Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is provided through the Family and Legal Advocates.                                                 money1
NOA offers comprehensive client care which includes case management,
counseling, support group, family budgeting, legal advocacy
and financial assistance.

To be eligible for services, victims meet in person with an advocate for the intake process. During this time, a basic safety and needs assesment is completed and community referrals are made.  The Family Advocate guides the completion of a working budget and assists with TANF and/or   Food Stamp applications.

A major component of healing the wounds of domestic violence includes counseling and support group for victims and their children. NOA clients agree to attend eight weeks of individual counseling and at least eight weeks of Support Group sessions. You may decide to attend Support Group beyond the eight weeks and are free to attend as long as you want. Support Groups are held weekly in Dawson and Lumpkin counties for women and children.

Clients are also required to communicate with the Family Advocate or Legal Advocate on a weekly basis to discuss their safety and case plan and update their budget if needed.

You can call NOA’s crisis line, 706-864-1986, 24-hours a day
